Beachbody On Demand

If you looked at my music collection today, you would see anything from 80s rock, pop, country to classical.  Yes, I like all types. That's what makes MY world move.

I am like that with other things too.  I like all kinds of books, I like all kinds of movies.  I am very eclectic in my tastes.  Don't believe me?  Check out my house, or the clothes I wear.

It all depends on the mood that I am in.

Well, I am no different in my workouts. Some days I need Chalene to tell me that I'm not tired and to keep moving. Then there are days when Autumn telling me that I can do anything for a minute is exactly what I need to hear.  Believe it or not, some times I need a corny joke from Tony to get me moving.

Can you relate?

That is why I am so excited about Beachbody On Demand.  Not sure what that is?  What about netflix?  I'm sure you have heard of that. Well On Demand is like that!  You get unlimited access to stream some of Beachbody's popular workouts. And...ALL of the program guides, nutrition guides and calendars are included.  How great is that?

In the past 4 days, I have done a workout from P90X3, PiYo, Brazil Butt Lift and then I even tried Tai Cheng.  For someone like me, who likes a variety, this is an awesome solution.

I NEVER have to worry about buying another program that collects dust on my bookshelf.

I NEVER have to worry about finding the dvd and hoping that it isn't too scratched.

I NEVER have to worry about starting that workout and realizing that I just can't stand the trainer's voice.

On Demand was MADE for people just like ME!  What about you?

World Health Day 2015

Good morning! Did you know that today is world health day? I didn't until about 20 minutes ago. Get ready for some tough love this Tuesday!

I get a personal development text every morning from Darren Hardy. I just wanted to share some of that with all of you. smile emoticon
Action for today:
It's simple you become what you eat. Scary thought huh?
What you put into your mouth becomes what fuels you. You are fueling the most precious and miraculous machine ever created - your body.
You wouldn't feed a championship racehorse chips, cake and soda but you have no issues with feeding yourself or even your family that stuff?
So, take action...
1-Go to your pantry.
2-Take out everything that has ingredients made by a guy in a lab.
3-Throw it away, don't give it to someone else! If it's not good for your body why would it be good for theirs?
Look at the photo below - from the farm to the plate. I realize that this is going to be very hard for some of us, I know it was hard for me this morning. I thought that I was eating clean and doing great. But...then I realized that I was buying all kinds of junk for my hubby and son. I wasn't eating it and it is their choice right? I have become an enabler. My son is 17, he eats what I buy, so if I am buying junk for him and healthy for me...well, I think you can see where I am going with this.
Share below something that you threw out.smile emoticon Mine was chips.
Have a great day!

A Beacon of HOPE

Many people do not know that I was sexually abused  when I was a child, for almost 16 years by my biological father.

Being abused as a child is something that you can't easily let go.  It stays with you as a scar for your entire life.  My entire life I have felt like I was not lovable, that I was not worthy.  I have quit at just about everything that I have ever tried. It wasn't that I couldn't do it, it was self sabotage.

I was not happy so I didn't want anyone else to be either.  I have spent most of my life trying to make people as miserable as I was.  Most of the time I succeeded, and 99% of the time it was my family who suffered.

If things were going well, I would make sure that they didn't.  I did everything in my power and believe me when I say I was great at it.

Today, I was telling another coach how Beach Body has changed me.  In 10 months, I have gone from the woman who wanted to destroy everyone and everything around her, to the woman who wanted to give everyone what she has and that is hope.

I became a coach for two reason.  One, was to help my family by becoming a better mom, wife and daughter.  I wanted to become financially fit at some point as well.  I wanted to make life better for my husband who has had to work so hard his entire life.

The second reason was that I wanted to give other women hope.  I wanted them to know that they are worthy, that they can be loved.  That they can and should live life to the fullest, look towards the future and not condemn themselves to a life in the past.

I was surrounded by hatred and now I am surrounded by love, for myself and for others.

I know this sounds so trivial, there is a lot more to this than I can possibly put down in one blog
post and if you ever want to talk, let me know.

Anyhow, this wonderful coach that I spoke with today said something that just reached in and grabbed my heart.  She said she had heard this on a call last week, but it seemed to fit so well for me today.

"My past did not just happen TO me, it happened FOR me, so that I can be a beacon for others."

To think that what happened to me might be turned and used for good just blows me away.   I truly do hope so, oh how I do hope.

Clean Eating Pumpkin Chili Review

I know that I have been adding a lot of clean eating recipes lately on Face Book.  My family asked me if I was just posting them or if I was actually trying them.  So I decided to share with everyone else my experience making a Clean Eating Pumpkin Chili.

I made a few changes to my chili vs the chili recipe below.  First, we used deer meat instead of the grass fed beef.  I also did not put any pumpkin beer in it (at the request of my husband).

This part ^^^^ looks disgusting and I was starting to get worried.  This is right after I added the pumpkin puree to the deer meat.

Now, it is starting to look like a chili :)

Final product:  pumpkin chili with a dollop of sour cream.  It was really delicious.  Adding the sour cream was definitely a must.   It wasn't spicy or hot, tasted  a little sweet.  My husband said that he thought it had a good consistency and he liked that it wasn't greasy or anything.

So, will I be making this again?  Yes, my hubby gave it a thumbs up so I will definitely be making it again!

Pumpkin Chili

Yield: Serves 8

Ingredients

2 lbs grass fed beef

coconut or grape seed oil

1 red onion, diced

2 green peppers, diced

4 garlic cloves, minced

2 tbsp cumin

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp oregano

3 cups pumpkin puree

3 cups kidney beans, cooked and rinsed

6oz tomato paste

2 (28oz) containers crushed tomatoes

1 pumpkin beer

1 cup beef broth

2 habanero peppers, diced (remove seeds and ribs for less spicy chili)

salt, to taste

black pepper, to taste

Sour cream, for topping

Instructions

Heat the oil in a large stockpot over medium heat. Add the onion and peppers and saute until translucent. Remove from the pan.
Add the ground beef. Cook the beef until browned. Add the garlic and sautee for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add back the sauteed onions and green peppers.
Add the spices. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring, until spices become fragrant.
Stir in the pumpkin puree, kidney beans, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, habanero peppers, and pumpkin beer.
Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with a dab of sour cream.

Let Me Be Your Beach Body Coach Because You're WORTH It!

What are you waiting for? If I told you that I could help you take care of yourself so that you would be able to take care of your family in return, wouldn't you say yes?

Sometimes as mom's we put other people needs first. We make sure that our kids get fed on time and hopefully it's healthy. We make sure they have play dates or whatever so they can run around and have fun. We work on getting them the best education and the best of us. When we are done with taking care of our kids, our husbands, or moms and dads, even our animals and friends, what is left for us?
Not a whole lot.
We spend so much time worrying about everyone else that we forget about ourselves. I know that I will say I'll do that for myself tomorrow. But let's get real do we ever do it tomorrow? No, we push it aside because something else will popup that needs to be done for our loved ones.
I'm not saying this is bad, I love my family and would do anything for them.
But...I need to realize that I need to take care of myself too. Why? Because I'm worth it!
If I can't take care of myself then who will take care of my family if something happens to me? If I don't take care of my health, then I take the chance of leaving them earlier than I would ever plan to.
When you get on an airplane, they go through the safety procedures. One of the first ones they tell you is that if the oxygen mask drops put YOURS on before you put on your child's. This works for all aspects of your life.
Put on your "oxygen mask", take care of you. I am waiting here for you to start your health and fitness journey. Whether you just want help with working out, eating healthier or even financial fitness, I am waiting.
Are you ready to take that step? There is no better time than now. Why?
Because you're worth it!

Emotional Eating with Beach Body and Still Lost 24.5 inches!

Ten months ago I started this crazy journey.  I can say that there have been some rough times but for the most part I have truly enjoyed it.

I wanted to share this to show that the scale isn't always my friend.  I am an emotional eater and the last months have been hard on my body lol.

In October, my son was in a car accident, then in January there was a car

accident, the engine went in my car last month, and my husbands car is gone now too.  So, needless to say we had a lot of car issues and stress trying to figure out what we were going to do.  I ate ALOT of my stress and gained back some of my weight.

The point of this is to say that even though I have gained back some weight, I have still lost 24.5 inches in 10 months.  My clothes are smaller and fit much better in the waist.  I would think that anyone could see the difference from my very first photo and now today's.

The moral of the story.  Don't think that the scale is your friend, because usually it isn't.  If you are like me and step on it almost every day, then you can get upset about what your so called bestie has to say.

If you are starting your journey or are even in the middle of one, then I URGE you to take photos ( you DON'T have to post them on FB, you don't have to share them with anyone but yourself) and also take your measurements.  If your not sure how to take them, message me, I can walk you through it or even send a video.  I am more than willing to help.

You won't regret using measurements and photos to measure your progress, I can promise you that.

Need help or just want to chat, send me a message. :)

Chalene Johnson, Turbofire and PiYo

I just had to share this.  If you are not familiar with Chalene Johnson then please give me just a moment of your time.

If you wait till you're ready, you'll wait forever. Remember: That pro was once an amateur. That master was once a novice. Everyone has to start. I believe in you and I know you are capable of doing amazing things. Be courageous and just start!  ~ Chalene Johnson

The first time I had heard of her was when my amazing coach Amanda was going to Las Vegas last year for the Beach Body Coach Summit. This is a yearly event, which I am so blessed to be able to go to this year with my daughter Kaitlyn Drummond in Nashville.

Anyhow, Amanda  was so excited about Chalene Johnson and her program Turbo Fire, which I had never heard of.  She kept going on and on about how her new program PiYo was coming out and how excited she was to start it.  That it would be great for someone like me who is challenged with flexibility, inner core strength and with my plantar fascitis.  It is a low impact program so it was perfect for me, there would be no jumping!  YES!

I have since then done 2 rounds of PiYo and am getting ready to start Turbo fire in a couple of months, waiting until I finish with Tony's P90X3.  Anyhow, she was so right.  I fell in love with Chalene.  She is so easy to follow in this program, she is so motivating.  I love that as she is asking you very nicely, can you go just a little lower, she has this huge smile and glow on her face.

If you ever have a chance, I am almost begging you to check out her facebook page.  If you need inspiration or motivation to get going, to change your life, she is definitely one that can help.

And by the way, just as an FYI, for those of you  who already have Beach body on Demand, the ENTIRE Turbo Fire program, nutrition guide, calendar etc is there.  Try one of her Turbo Fire workouts, you will LOVE it!

Don't have On Demand yet or don't know what it is all about?  Have you heard of Netflix?  It is just like that but for workouts.  Beach Body has workouts, program guides, calendars and nutrition all included when you sign up for a team beach body club membership.

If you would like to know more, then hit me up. I'm willing if you are!

FREE 5 Day Clean Eating Challenge Group

Hey everyone. I remember the day that I went to the doctors office and stepped on that hateful scale. Definitely not bestie material.
Anyhow, I asked the nurse what I weighed and she said 240...I just looked at her in stunned disbelief. I did not step on the scale for a long time after that.
I started exercising and eating Lean Cuisines, it had I had gained again!
the name Lean in it so I thought it was healthy. Or Healthy Choice even. When I went back I still had not lost any weight, in fact
My doctor told me that I had to lose weight, and to change up what I was eating.
CHANGE UP WHAT I AM EATING? HOW? If I knew what to eat, don't you think I would do that?
I knew what to do to work out. Or at the time I thought I did. I got on my stationary bike and started bike 5 miles a day, then 10, then 15 and then 20. But, I still wasn't sure what to eat.
One web site said carbs was good one said they were bad. I needed more protein or was I eating not enough. And somebody please tell me what the heck a macro nutrient is!
One month after joining my first challenge group, I started a clean eating group. At first, I was very skeptical, I didn't want to change everything all at once...I knew it was just setting me up for failure. So, I changed a little here and a little there.
Guess what? Clean eating really does work!

I would like to invite you to join me for a 5 day clean eating group starting on April 6. In this group I will share what clean eating is, share some recipes, grocery lists, meal plans and motivation.
Please don't wait until the last minute to sign up. I would recommend signing up now, so I can share a shopping list with you. That way you will be prepared on April 6.
I can't wait to see your smiling face in this group! Please like and share.
If I told you that I could help you pick foods that were healthy and actually made you feel good after eating them would you be interested?
Comment below or message me for an invite.

I believed I could so I did <3
